Well i made a topic about Arjen Lucassen, with out a doubt one of my favorite musical composers :king:

He even took some time of to answer an email i sent him 4 months ago :king:

I love Ayreon, so i decided to make not only an Ayreon topic, but a topic for Arjen 3 projects and to talk about his other stuff.

Well have any of you heard all there of his main stuff? Ayreon, Ambeon and Star One?

What is your favorite Ayreon album? Favorite Star One album and did you like Ambeon?

:D

My favorite Ayreon album is easily "The Human Equation", not least because itīs also the only one I own from them. What can I say, I like it very much, I like the way he blends all those musical styles, including metal, prog, folk, pop etc...

I donīt own any of the previous albums that much, because of what I heard from them, those sounded way too "retro" for me... also I havenīt heard much Star One, but I guess itīs quite good stuff... I have also that one Ambeon album on my computer, and I generally like those songs, they remind me somehow of Vangelis...

Definitely "Into The Electric Castle". There's only one Star One so far. What did you ask?

I have never heard of Ambeon yet and I haven't listened to Star One.

But I looove Ayreon :D Especially "The Human Equation", probably the best progalbum I own. "Into the Electric Castle" is also great.

Yes I love Ayreon, his albums are very very good. He is an extremely talented musician. The storylines on Ayreon albums are all good. And he uses a lot of Hammond organs!
Well my favourites are : "Into the Electric Castle" and "The Human Equation". I like Star One as well but Ayreon is better IMO.
I am very curious about the next Ayreon album because it WON'T be a concept album, it will be just ONE disc long and will be sung only by ONE singer. (Marcela Bovio)
So it will be interesting.

Arjen is a true genius. I love his personality as well as his musicianship.

"Into the Electric Castle" is tied with Star One for me.

Neo-classical metal with Malmsteen and Dio elements ( Dio especially because of the singer's voice-Nils Patrik. He is the siner in Astral Doors and Wuthering Heights as well )

:o so he is the one that sins in Astra Doors? :o

Well them i'm very interested in listening to it, is it more neoclassic than At Vance?

back on topic.

Would you like Arjen to play a bit more metal, atmospheric, 70s rock or what? :D

I like Ayeron and all Arjen's projects - "The final experiment" was the first progressive album, I've heard! So, Ayeron for me is like the first love :) - I still remember all songs, and my favourite Ayeron song is on this album - "Sail Away To Avalon"...

Also I like that there are always a lot of session voicalists in Arjen's bands . And, of course, most of all I like Fabio's singing :D .

I love Arjen and all his projects. Well except for Ambeon. That one bored me.

Any way, my favorite Ayreon album is The Final Experiment. My favorite Star One is the Live on Earth as it's the first Arjen album I ever purchased :)

I also dig his anonymous cover album called Strange Hobby and his solo album called Pools of Sorrow, Waves of Joy.

Along with Dead Soul Tribe's new album this is what I wait the most to be released. (and along with the 'must have's like Helloween's new one)
The song 'Deceiver' haunts me since I first heard it, I listen to it very often and just can't wait to have it.
If the whole album will be as good as this song, then I will celebrate a new favourite album/band. :)

I bought Stream Of Passion's album yesterday, but it was a hard struggle. It's an album you need to listen to a couple (many?) times before you can comprehend it. Still, Marcela Bovio is an amazing singer. :o (and beautiful too :D)
