I know most of you don't give a shit about this kinda music, in fact I'm not the kind of guy that listen to this music when I'm home. But I totally love it when I'm hanging out at a night club, partying, you know ;) I really like this music to have fun (obviously, not as much as metal and other rock kinda music ofcourse ;) ).

Then a friend of mine told me about this kinda huge festival called tomorrowland and judging by the videos on youtube, it looks great imo. It's like the electronic music version of wacken or something.

So, what do you guys think of the genre and the festival?

I'm not a fan of "pure" electronic, sort of pop, music, but I happen to enjoy combinations of certain types of music with electronic elements. Electrojazz (like Misteur Valaire) and electroswing (like Parov Stelar) most notably.

Electronic music regroups a lot of different types of music, like house music and techno. There are certain house songs (from Swedish House Mafia and Stromae) that I enjoy, but I can't stand techno and the likes.

A friend of mine is into minimalistic electronic music, which has nothing to do with popular electronic music, and although I'm not familiar at all with the artists of this genre, I like it alot. Everytime I'm with him and he puts some of his music, I manage to find something I enjoy.

As for clubbing and partying, I don't really care. It's the type of music that goes with it, although I don't enjoy it. Been there, done that a few times, not saying I won't do it again, but it's not for me.

Never heard of that festival, but I enjoy a lot of electronic music. Triphop, industrial, ebm, idm, 90's eurodance.

Since it's in Belgium, I've heard of it, of course. :) Mayor festival, gets bigger every year. About the music, I had a period in which I really liked it, but not so much these days. Not that I hate it, I just don't find anything interesting in it any more. Or I haven't heard any of the good stuff in a few years. :)

I like my fair share of electronic music, but like Midget, it's usually a blend of genres, not purely electronic.

Blended with other genres or not, I nearly always find electronic music very enjoyable. Long live Kraftwerk!

Well, I'm like Lorenzo and dwarf, but I didn't want to start a topic for a very specific genre. Like dwarf said, I'm not a fan of pure electronic music either, I prefer minimalistic sounds and a bit of 90´s eurodance. I never took care of knowing the artists nor their albums though, since I can find listen to this music practicly everywhere, and the most popular ones come very often to my city. But to say some names, I like the music of David Guetta, Tiesto, Paul Van Dyk you know some of the most known ones. I really liked the music of a bunch dutch and german Dj's that used to come here 3 years ago (and they played like 2 blocks away from my house), but I already forgot their names lol

and my favorite song in 1999-2000.

Non-stop listening in a 28 hours bus trip to Barcelona with Pokémon Red on the Gameboy Pocket.

+1 for What Is Love by Haddaway. That's precisely the reason I love A Night at the Roxbury so much :D

I forgot to mention I enjoy some dubstep, altough I find there's a lot of shitty songs and artists and the good ones are hard to find. Actually, I'm only familiar with one artist, but I think he's great.

Not dubstep, and frankly I don't know if you'd call this electronic music, but a band I discovered recently and quite enjoy:

Good thing it's just an interlude to an Attack Attack! song.. Their real songs are the most god awful thing in the universe. Worse than cancer and AIDS and Hess.

@Dwarf: I find most of dubstep pretty annoying, but there are some good exceptions indeed, not my cup of tea though.

And this is sort of TomorrowLand in a nutshell. I'd totally go there if I could

British progressive rock/electronica band Pure Reason Revolution is a great example of combining genres. They adapted the electro-sound with their second album, Amor Vincit Omnia. I'm yet to buy it, but I'm expeting it to be awesome.

Why's that? Although if I were introduced the band today, I'd agree, just because I've been playing Deus Ex lately.

And yeah, especially AVO is awesome. That ending is so hypnotizing.
